Autumn Leaves

Nursing Home Ministry

Autumn Leaves MinistryIn Mike & Sandi Kirkpatrick’s Nursing Home Ministry, they bring a Sunday morning church service to elderly people who would otherwise have no opportunity to attend church. The church service is complete with worship music (familiar to the residents), a verse-by-verse teaching from the Word of God and loving fellowship. Not only do the residents attend the service, but because they are unable to attend their own home church, some of the nursing home staff attend the service as well. The ministry began over two years ago at Autumn Leaves Nursing Center in Flower Mound. This facility specializes in Alzheimer’s and dementia patients. The meetings started with less than 10 people and have since grown to roughly 30+ now attending. Exciting things are happening among the ministers as well! One of the ladies that was helping Mike & Sandi has since moved over to Pinewood Nursing Home and is leading a worship for a Sunday service over there. Dick Knight, who started in the ministry with Mike & Sandi has started a Tuesday afternoon bible Study at Flower Mound Assisted Living Home and it seems that they are interested in getting a Sunday service started at that facility! The harvest is plentiful (Matthew 9:36-38).
